Jim is an introvert who has struggled with anxiety, depression and addiction his entire life.

The way I deal with anxiety and depression is to keep myself so busy that I don’t have to think about my feelings.

At the peak of my alcoholism, I was having severe panic attacks, suicidal thoughts and hearing voices.

When you suffer anxiety and occasional depression like me, you worry that your child is going to adopt these same behaviors.

I didn’t realize that my mental health was having any effect on them, but it was and it was important for me to recognize that.

The turning point in my healing journey came when a compassionate leader recognized behaviors and characteristics rooted in my trauma.

Although I do think we have made some strides around mental health I think on a person-to-person level, there are differing experiences.
